Pat
Rushon, owner, has a long history as an artisan with a background
in custom calligraphy, mosaic furniture, decoupage, collage, wire
and beaded jewelry, and hand-painted children's clothing. Pat expanded
into surface design in 1997 and began her own business. She started
glazing, distressing, and antiquing furniture. Since then, her repertoire
has grown to include plasters, gilding, and relief effects. Early
in her career, Pat taught classes to end users, sales representatives,
and store personnel for Valspar Corporation and McClosky Special
Effects. She continues to teach classes for Winslow Paint Company.
Throughout the years, Pat has created works of art from Washington
to Florida. Her flexibility enables her to accommodate unusual job
situations and locations. Other artisans work alongside Pat enabling
her to complete large projects. When employing crews, she is always
present to supervise the work and ensure that it is completed according
to her specifications.
